About Us

Intermountain Generator Service is owned and operated by Nick Perrenoud.

Nick graduated in 2003 from Idaho State University with an Associate’s degree in Diesel Technology and an Associate’s Degree in Diesel Electric.

He started his work experience in Washington State working for a Kohler Distributor, called at the time Pacific Detroit Diesel-Allison, the company later changed its name to Pacific Power Products. There he was one of three techs who serviced all of Oregon and the lower part of Washington. Gaining experience working on all kinds of generators.

His next work experience came from Sterling Trucks of Utah, where he worked as a technician. He mainly performed engine repairs to over the road trucks to include engine in-frame rebuilds and transmission rebuild and repair.

He was the approached by a friend who worked for Cummins Rocky Mountain about an opening at Cummins. Nick applied for the job and for the last nearly 8 years has worked for Cummins. His job duties started where most Generator techs start, performing preventative maintenance on all makes and sizes of emergency generators. Within a few years his experience and work quality and ethics took him to performing repairs and startups of new generators. He was usually always the first pick for new startups and repairs of the sales team at Cummins, due to Nick’s work ethics and quality of his work. Still working for Cummins, Nick accepted a new position in the office as a Service Advisor. In this position he coordinated the repair process for 4 technicians. He was the “go to guy” for everybody, from the sales team and technicians, to customers looking for advice and answers to technical questions. Nick always takes pride in what he does by doing things like writing his name on the oil filters so everyone knew who worked on that particular piece of equipment. Each Transfer switch and Generator he started up had his business card on it. He did this so he could receive the phone calls or emails from “his customers” always wanting to be the one to serve and help his customers and have a personal relationship with them, as to keep them from calling an office where you never know who you’re going to get to talk to.

Nick started Intermountain Generator Service because he wanted to provide his customers quality care, and honest work for a better value. Having the owner of the companies direct phone number is surely a huge source of comfort for the customer. Nick will be performing the work and will not let the growth of his company get in the way of Quality, Honesty and Inexpensive work. “I want to give every customer a memorable experience that stays with them, knowing they received the highest quality service available.”
